We created this blog for those of you that are interested in following us in New Zealand during the month of January 2012. Our goal is to post to the blog every day that we have access to the internet. We leave San Diego on December 30, 2011 and arrive in Queenstown, New Zealand on January 1, 2012. Yes, we will miss New Year’s Eve. We will be on a bicycle tour of the south island for 18 days with 8 other tandem teams. At the end of the bicycle tour we will fly to the north island for a 7 day car tour with our friends Sandy and Hugh. Before returning home we will spend 5 days in Melbourne, Australia with Cindy’s brother and family.
We will be taking our own tandem with us. We have been riding a Twin Air, Bike Friday (Eugene, OR) for the past 4 years. It is built on a 20” wheel, rides beautifully and packs easily for travel.
